Today, in a stunning tribute to Guglielmo Marconi all radio waves were silenced for two minutes.  Guglielmo Marconi was born in Bolgna, Italy to a wealthy landowner.  All of his life he was pampered and never had to worry about money at all.  Guglielmo Marconi was very curious about many things he flunked out of secondary school and was not able to get into the school that his parents wanted him to go to.  He went to a technical school in Leghorn.  Here he learned about electrophysics and Morse code.  At the age of twenty he read about the experiments of Heinrich Hertz, which was with electromagnetic waves this influenced him to try to discover radio.  During a snowstorm in the winter of 1895 Guglielmo Marconi sent a wireless signal a few feet across his attic thereby inventing radio.  He built up the distance that the ra
